Minutes of the July 13, 2010 Meeting
President Kari Alexander called the meeting to order and led the flag salute.
Guests: Jim DeTro, Okanogan County Commissioner District 3 candidate, spoke about his concerns and why he’s running for the commissioner seat. He said he is a native born Okanogan County resident and he’s running because he cares about the custom culture and economic stability of Okanogan County. He spoke about his disappointment in the current commissioners and how they are handling the tax payers money and said if elected, he wants to start a financial advisory committee.
Rae Jean Kelley, Okanogan County Clerk candidate, passed out a brochure with her information, including her educational and work background along with her plan of action for office if she’s elected. She said she was raised in Malott and graduated from Okanogan High School in 1980 and has been working in law offices since then. She said she believes that makes her the best candidate for the county clerk position.
Minutes were approved. Becky Holder moved and Terry Mills seconded.
Treasurer’s report: Terry Mills reports $6,709.47 with the RV Park income and repairs taken into account.
Membership: Terry Mills said the Chamber is holding steady at 81 members.
RV Park: Terry Mills said the RV Pad will be worked on when she and Herb Wandler can get together and work on it.

Old Business:
Pole Painting - Kari Alexander said she doesn’t really know anything about the pole painting project right now.
New Business:
Next meeting won’t be until Aug. 10.
Community Announcements:
Julie Alley said there will be no speaker at the Aug. 10 meeting unless one contacts the Chamber and requests it since she and Kari Alexander will both be gone that meeting. She said Sheriff Rogers will be speaking on Sept. 14 and Dave Yarnell will be speaking on Sept. 28.
Kari Alexander announced the “Narnia: The Musical” performances, which will be on July 22, 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. along with a matinee at 3 p.m. on the 24th.
Kari Alexander also said she is planning a fund raiser to bring the Missoula Children’s Theater back to Tonasket next year. The fund raiser will be at the City Pool on Monday, July 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
